DANSPACE PROJECT was founded in 1974 to provide a performance venue for independent experimental choreographers. Over the years some of contemporary dance's most iconoclastic and celebrated movers have made their mark on the spare sanctuary of the landmark St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery. This season DANSPACE PROJECT presents local and international dance talents. Danspace proudly participates in France Moves, a city-wide festival of contemporary French dance, featuring, at Danspace, Compagnie Azanie whose members come from Cameroon, Brazil, Cuba, North Africa, Madagascar, and other diverse points of the world. Karen Graham and Sarah Skaggs return to the City/Dans series this spring, along with newcomers Curt Haworth & Amanda Loulaki and Yin Mei. Also returning are the FOOD FOR THOUGHT and DraftWork series, showcasing an array of innovative dance artists. Spring is splendid, and so is this offering of exciting work concluding our 2000-2001 season. DANSPACE
